Description:
Dealing with couples who have experienced an affair by one of the partners can be a difficult situation for their therapist. How can trust be re-established and at what pace? When do problems that existed prior to the affair get addressed? Is there a point at which expressing anger at the unfaithful partner becomes an impediment to moving forward? These and other issues will be addressed in this brief introductory workshop that will apply some of the basic principles of Gestalt couples therapy to the matter of affairs.

Participants completing this workshop will be able to:
-Identify the couples system and emerging patterns
-Apply the Cleveland model of couples therapy to the issue of affairs
-Explore the process of developing and re-establishing trust in a couple that has experienced an affair
